There are 170 operational turbines at the National Iranian South Oil
Company which will be repaired by domestic technicians.

Managing
director of National Iranian South Oil Company explained about the company's
achievements in production from oil reserves and announced that Iranian
specialists have mastered necessary technology to manufacture oil and gas
turbines. They are also able to use nanotechnology to increase recovery factor
of oil fields.
Hormoz
Qalavand emphasized that Iran was having difficulty with oil industry
equipment, especially oil and gas turbines and this is the first time that
Iranian specialists have transferred technology for manufacturing such
turbines.
Managing
director of National Iranian South Oil Company added that manufacturing such
turbines out of the country would cost 6 million dollars, saying, "By taking
advantage of domestic manufacturers, they are currently being made at the
cost of less than 4 million dollars. Thus, 2 million dollars is saved on
every single turbine."
The
official stated that there are 170 operational turbines at the National
Iranian South Oil Company which will be repaired by domestic technicians.
Qalavand
stated that National Iranian South Oil Company is currently producing oil from
80 fields in southwest Iran, adding, "The Company is currently producing about
3 million barrels per day of crude oil, which accounts for 80 percent of
total output of the country."
Referring to variable behavior of different oil reserves including limestone
and carbonated ones, he added that average recovery factor in oil fields
operated by the National Iranian South Oil Company stands at above 34 percent.
"We are
working with Oil Institute of University of Tehran to use nanotechnology and
increase that figure by 1-2 percent," he said.
The
official stated that 120 new wells are drilled annually at Asmari, Bangestan,
and Khami oil fields. "The main goal of the National Iranian South Oil Company
is to increase output while stabilizing crude oil production."
Emphasizing on the need for suitable oil production, Qalavand added that in
parallel to development of southern oil fields, projects are underway to
inject them with gas.
He added
that Khami reservoir of Maroun oil field was the biggest gas reservoir of that
region.
"The
National Iranian South Oil Company produces a total annual amount of 20
million cubic meters of gas from the field and, in addition to gas coming from
phases 6, 7 and 8 of South Pars gas field, injects it into other oil fields,"
he said.
Qalavand noted that development plan of the Middle East's oldest oil field in Masjed Soleiman has progressed 99 percent and when fully operational in early
October, it will produce 25,000 barrels per day of crude oil. |
