Chinese Companies in Tehran Exhibition
The
number of foreign companies taking part in this year's international oil and
gas exhibition increased by 22 percent compared to last year to hit 496
companies out of a total of 1,550. Despite the sanctions, 64 German companies,
36 Italian companies, 37 British companies, 14 Spanish companies, 15 French
companies and 33 companies from South Korea were present.
Considerable presence of Chinese companies at the 16th exhibition of oil, gas,
and petrochemicals surprised the Western media.
AFP said
in a report that there were 166 Chinese companies in this year's exhibition
compared to last year's 100 companies.
In the
absence of Western companies which did not take part under pressure of US
sanctions, Chinese counterparts filled the void and signed many contracts with
the Iranian energy industry. |
