National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC)

National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) was established in 1992 to meet the new needs of the oil industries. From the outset, NIORDC has taken the responsibility of:

  • Transferring Crude Oil to the refineries and export berths

  • Processing, production and distribution of various petroleum products throughout the country

  • Discharging and transporting the imported petroleum products to the consumption centers

  • Constructing and management of refineries, pipelines and telecommunication networks

  • Providing internal and distance communication systems for industrial and administrative centers of the Ministry of Petroleum

Having a glance at the performance and achievements of NIORDC since its formation until now indicates that this company has been able to achieve goals beyond its routine duties. Thus NIORDC managed to have a significant role in technological development of Iran’s oil industry. NIORDC has accomplished not only the supplying of a major portion of the energy sources, but also the goals envisaged in the 20-year prospective outlook, the macro programs on refining industry, planning and executing various research projects, observing the environmental objectives and high quality products, and paving the ground for domestic production of required equipment.

Taking advantage of a 100-year experience in the oil industry, the Production Supervision and Cooperation Management of NIODC has efficiently fulfilled the need of different sectors in petroleum products.

Production Supervision and Cooperation Management

Area of Activities

Crude oil refining and production of petroleum products, including main products (LPG, gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and fuel oil) and special products (all kinds of base oil, solvents, aviation fuels, sulfur and vacuum bottom) is the main responsibility of the production supervision and cooperation management.

This section with 90 years of invaluable experience is able to organize, manage and supervise the activities and operation of the nine existing refineries. Today, our experts besides their ability to observe the smooth operation of the existing refineries are talented enough to use their technical knowledge and share their experiences in such areas like operation, maintenance, engineering, debottlenecking, installation, and operation of oil facilities in the overseas.

The Production Supervision and Cooperation Management strategies are as followed:

  • Completion and optimization of the existing refineries

  • Quality improvement of the petroleum products at the international standards

  • Meeting the environmental standards

  • Converting the refining companies into economic and self-governing entities through decentralization and productivity

With the implementation of the expansion projects, including reduction of fuel oil, putting up FCC, RFCC, isomerization, alkylation, hydro processing units, developing IMS and observing international standards we have taken giant steps towards optimizing the production process, waste reduction, upgrading the quality of products and increasing the refinery capacity.

To accomplish the tasks and achieve the determined objectives, the Production Supervision and Cooperation Management has the following capabilities:

  • Over 90 years experience of managing complex and extensive refining units as well as having most elite experts in 9 refining companies with the total daily nominal capacity of about 1.8 million barrels of crude oil and gas condensates by the most various process units

  • Millions of man/hour experiences in reconstruction, renovation, overhaul and execution of different   projects

Capabilities

  • Knowledge, experience and utilization of all refining processes know-how

  • Knowledge, experience and know-how of overhauling all refining processes

  • Knowledge, experience and know-how of troubleshooting and rehabilitation of all refining processes

  • Knowledge and experience of refining units’ start up

  • Simultaneous management of several refining complexes

  • Pre-commissioning, commissioning and plant management

  • Manufacturing machinery, spare parts and other equipment needed for the refineries

  • Training and mobilization of man power
